Stillness After Movement

Ending With Quiet Reflection & Listening Prayer

Movement has a way of loosening what we’ve been holding. A short walk, a few stretches, or even gentle rocking in a chair can shift the tension we didn’t realize we were carrying. Our bodies speak loudly when stress builds up, but they also whisper when peace begins to return.
At Soul Shift Live, we honor both.
The movement that helps us release and the stillness that helps us receive.
Today’s practice invites you into that sacred pause.
After the Movement: The Exhale
Once your body has moved — even for just a few minutes — there’s a natural settling that follows. Muscles soften. Breathing slows. The nervous system begins to downshift.
This is the moment where stillness becomes a gift.
Stillness isn’t the absence of activity.
It’s the presence of awareness.
It’s the space where your spirit catches up with your body.
Where you can hear what you’ve been too busy to notice.
Where God’s gentle voice becomes easier to sense.
A Simple Stillness Practice
Find a comfortable position — seated, reclined, or lying down.
Let your hands rest softly.
Let your breath fall into its own rhythm.
Then try this:
Notice one thing your body is grateful for right now.
Notice one thing your heart is longing for.
Notice one thing God might be inviting you to release.
You don’t have to force anything.
You don’t have to “do it right.”
You’re simply becoming present.
“God, I’m here. My body is settling.
My heart is open.
Speak to me in the quiet.”
Then rest.
Breathe. Listen without pressure.
Let the stillness hold you.
What Stillness Teaches
When we end movement with quiet reflection, we learn:
Peace is something we can practice
God often speaks in gentle ways
