The God Who Sees Me

“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.’”   — Genesis 16:13 (NIV)

Hagar, alone and misunderstood, discovered something life-changing: even in the wilderness, God saw her. Not just her situation, but her heart.

“His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.”

This hymn reminds us that God’s care is not distant —it is personal, tender, and constant. Just as He watches over the smallest bird, He watches over us.

  • Where in your life do you feel unseen right now?

  • How might you rest in the truth that God sees you fully and loves you completely?

Closing Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being the God who sees me. In moments when I feel overlooked or forgotten, remind me that Your eyes are always on me and Your love never fails. Help me to see others with the same compassion You show me. Amen.
