When the Future Feels Uncertain

The future can feel like a fog impossible to see through. We try to peer ahead, to predict what’s coming, to prepare for every possibility, but uncertainty has a way of reminding us that we are not in control. And that reminder, though uncomfortable, can become a doorway into deeper trust.

When Tomorrow Feels Blurry
Uncertainty often stirs up the same questions in our hearts: Will I be okay? Will God come through? What if things don’t work out the way I want? Scripture does promise: the presence of God in every step we take.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
God’s Steady Hand in Shifting Seasons
When the future feels uncertain, God offers three quiet assurances:
His presence is constant — even when circumstances shift.
His wisdom is available — especially when we don’t know what to do next.
His plans are good — even when they unfold slowly or differently than we imagined.
A Different Kind of Security
We often want clarity, but God offers something deeper: confidence in Him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
When we lean on our own understanding, uncertainty feels terrifying
. When we lean on God, uncertainty becomes survivable
Lord, when the future feels unclear, steady my heart. Remind me that You walk with me into every unknown. Light my next step, calm my anxious thoughts, and help me trust that Your plans for me are good. I place tomorrow in Your hands and choose to rest in Your presence today. Amen.
